Time Magazine selected four journalists and one magazine for the Person of the Year of 2018. Among them is the name of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was killed in October in the consulate of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul. Jamal Khashoggi was a famous journalist. Jamal was murdered in Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul. Jamal Khashoggi was born on October 13, in the year 1958, in the Saudi religious city of Medina. Jamal’s early education was only in Saudi. He completed his studies from the University of Indiana in the year 1983, after which he came to the field of journalism. Jamal Khashoggi was the cousin of Dodi Fayad.
Fayad, the boyfriend of Princess Diana, died in a car crash in Paris along with Diana. Jamal first came to headlines for reporting the conflict between the Soviet Union’s armies and the mujahideen in Afghanistan. Jamal Khashoggi was elected editor of Saudi Arabia’s most popular newspaper Al-Watan in the year 2003. But because of his revolutionary views, he could not stand on this post.
Jamal Khashoggi had to leave Saudi Arabia for his candid write-up against the Saudi regime. Jamal was the vocal critic of the Prince.
Mohammed bin Salman’s policies; he had told some friends and reporters that he now feels insecure in Saudi. On a show broadcasted in March of Al Jazeera TV’s, he said, “I will leave Saudi because I do not want to be arrested. I was released twice because I was writing in favor of a change in Saudi Arabia. ”
After leaving Saudi, Jamal started living in Virginia America. During this time he was writing columns in the ‘Washington Post’ newspaper. According to ‘The Washington Post’, Jamal Khashoggi met with Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan in the year 1980 and 1990. During this time, Khashoggi had interviewed bin Laden several times. Khashoggi and Laden would often meet in Tora Bora. In the year 1995, Jamal Khashoggi met Laden in Sudan.
According to Al Arabiya, Khashoggi also tried to persuade bin Laden to leave the violence. After the terrorist attacks on September 11, the year 2001, Khashoggi had made a distance from bin Laden.
Jamal Khashoggi was murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. On October 2, Jamal Khashoggi went inside a Saudi Embassy’s Consulate near one o’clock in the day. According to the reports, he went to Embassy to take documents related to Divorce.
