What Is MOM – Mars Orbiter Mission?
  • The Mars orbiter mission launch was by the Indian Space Research Center (ISRO), on 5th November in the year 2013. The satellite successfully landed in the orbit of Mars at its first attempt on 24th September the next year.
  • Astonishingly, the satellite was expected to survive for six months, but it has been four years that the satellite is sending data from Mars and still counting.
  • An impeccable design is given to the satellite so that it can take care of itself.
  • A geometry of white out has been noticed by the satellite. This happens when the earth obstructs the path between the sun and the Mars. Excessive radiation disconnect communication and so white out.
