10 Weird wonders of the world
Planet Earth is full of wonders, we know very little about our planet. There are some mind-blowing facts that we came to know but still much more is unknown to humankind. Let’s take a look for 10 stunning wonders of the world.
WONDER NO. 10: THOR WELL – OREGON COAST
Thor well is located on the Oregon Coast, it is an extraordinary natural structure. Because of its ancient and mythological history, It is famous as the gateway to the underworld. Thor well is an attractive place for tourist, but the Local government issued a letter in public safety as a warning to visiting that place, which can be extremely dangerous to visit. The immense force of waves and hard, sharp edges of rocks make well so terrible, it is almost impossible to come out alive if someone fell into well.
WONDER NO. 09: ABRAHAM LAKE – CANADA
Alberta of Canada has one beautiful but very dangerous lake called lake Abraham. Underneath of water, there are millions of frozen methane bubbles which look an eye-catching visual, but they are extremely dangerous as methane is a highly inflammable substance. When any animal, leaves fell into lake micro-organism like bacteria consume them and release a high amount of methane. Due to this when methane bubbles come on the surface and stuck with ice on the top. When methane force gets high, bubbles pop, and it explodes.
WONDER NO 08: BLOOD RED WATERFALL- ANTARCTICA
Nature is full of wonders, There is one weird place in Antarctica where blood falls from the glacier it looks horrible like a horror movie. These blood falls are an entirely natural process. Around 2 million before Antartica was trapped with water body which contained small microbes of ancient species with excellent survival instinct. These microbes could survive without light, oxygen, and heat. Over the period iron and high salt of this bodies turned into blood red. It now drops from the edges of the glacier looks like snow scarlet.
WONDER NO 07: CHAMPAGNE POOL – NEW ZEALAND
Champagne pool in waiotapu, New Zealand is one of a kind. The champagne pool is the result of the hydrothermal eruption and took shape around 900 years ago. This pool got an unusual name because carbon dioxide bubbles through it as sparkles. Due to yellow and red mineral orpiment, it has a beautiful orange rim around. Swimming in Champagne pool may attract you, but it can be so dangerous as water temperature can reach up to 75 °C and it has toxic gases which erupt from the bottom of the pool.
WONDER NO. 06 THE EYE OF SAHARA – NORTH AFRICA
Sahara desert is the most massive hot desert of the world, located at north Africa which covers parts Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Western Sahara, Sudan, and Tunisia. In the heart of the Sahara desert, there is one uncommon mark looks like an Eye, which refers to “The Eye of the Sahara.” The Spinning pattern of rock has a diameter of 48 KM, and it is also visible from the space. Even Shuttle crews mark this eye as a landmark to navigate. There is a theory that the colossal mark is the result of the meteorite collision.
WONDER NO. 05 LAKE HILLIER – AUSTRALIA
Lake Hillier is located in Western Australia which is a complete eye-catching, unique destination. Which is famous for its beautiful pink color. 600-metre lake was discovered in 1802 by European discoverer Matthew Flinders. Water has Pink color due to the combination of salt and bacteria lives in water. Dunaliella salina algae and halobacterium both are responsible for its beautiful pink color. You can take water home as it doesn’t change its color even you store in the container.
WONDER NO. 04: THE GREAT BLUE HOLE – COAST OF BELIZE
The Great Blue Hole is 300 meters wide and 124 meters deep which is One of the most attractive places of scuba diving for scuba divers of the world. The great blue hole is a perfectly circular hole located 70 kilometers off the coast of Belize. It is one of the largest of its kind ever known to humankind. The tunnel began as a limestone cave around 150,000 years before, at the end of the glacial period water flooded the hole. Water at the hole is crystal clear and full of incredible water species.
WONDER NO. 03: VAADHOO ISLAND – MALDIVES
Vaadhoo island is located in the Maldives. This island is known for its stunning sea of Stars. In the moonlight, waves appear as a sparkling light, it looks like stars are floating in sea water. Researchers at Harvard university conclude that these mystical sparkling waves are caused by the phytoplankton called dinoflagellates which is a large group of flagellate eukaryotes. They have a unique membrane which response to the electric signals, which cause them to glow in the moonlight.
WONDER NO.02: HIERVE EL AGUA – OAXACA- MEXICO
Hierve El Agua is located in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, it is a stunning rock formation due to the mineral deposits from the dripping water in thousands of years. Waterfall cliff is 50 meters high. This process is the same as stalactites formations in caves. Hierve El Agua has become one of the favorite tourist destinations of the world for cliff face natural pools.
WONDER NO. 1: THE DOOR OF HELL – TURKMENISTAN
The Door to hell is located in Turkmenistan, it is also known as carter of fireplace or Darwaza crater. The door to hell is fireplace of natural gases. It is hard to believe that place is burning nonstop for over 45 years. The Hole is 30 meters deep, and it has a diameter of 69 meters. Hole first appear in 1971 when Soviet engineers were drilling for oil. To get rid of toxic gas engineers thought to burn it, they expected this burning process will end in few weeks, but still, there is no sign that how long pit will burn.
