Deepika Padukone has been facing immense scrutiny regarding her pregnancy on social media.
Several actresses including Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt and Aahana Kumra have come out in support of Deepika Padukone who is being subjected to immense scrutiny over her pregnancy.
Deepika Padukone is being subjected to immense negativity on social media ever since she announced her pregnancy earlier this year. Now her fellow colleague, actress Alia Bhatt, has come out in support of the ‘Pathaan’ star and strongly reacted to the trolls shaming the mom-to-be.
Deepika is expecting her first baby with actor-husband Ranveer Singh. On May 20, the actress stepped out to cast her vote in the fifth phase of Mumbai Lok Sabha Election 2024. However, she was trolled by a section of netizens who made some nasty comments on her body and even called her baby bump “fake”. Amid the ongoing trolling of the actress on social media, a senior journalist, Faye D’Souza, has penned a strongly-worded post on her official Instagram account and showed her solidarity with Deepika.
In her post, Faye wrote, “Dear social media, Deepika Padukone stepped out to do her democratic duty and vote. She did not ask for your feedback on her body or her pregnancy. You have no right to comment on any aspect of her life. Stop it. Behave.” Alia was quick to like the post. In fact, Alia’s sisters Pooja Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt and her mother Soni Razdan have liked the post too.
Reacting to the post, actress Shruti Seth wrote, “Luckily @deepikapadukone is too busy taking over the world to give a damn! She’s walking all over their damn opinions.” Actress Aahana Kumra commented, “Good on you Faye.” TV star Tina Datta said, “Exactly! People have lost it.”
Deepika’s fans are all praise for Alia for being “supportive” and “empathising” with their beloved star. One fan wrote, “After the hate Alia got, I can see her empathising with DP (everyone sympathises but Alia went through the speculations too, so can personally relate).” Another one said, “Yes, this is the time they need to be supportive! It’s just too personal to stoop at this level and interfere. Opinions by strangers on herself is the last thing she needs right now. Hope the baby and mama and dad are all okay and living every moment.”
